ABOUT PANTS YOUR GOONIES COSPLAY

I'm a part of the masquerade skit group, Pants Your Goonies Cosplay! We're a closely knit group of friends and fellow cosplayers who enjoy putting on a show and sharing our love from our favorite series mostly at conventions within the Southern California area. We like to tell stories from our favorite anime that we hope resonates with others.

We like planning out skits and trying new themes and stories with every masquerade, building hilarious backdrop settings, messing with video backgrounds, and gaining inspiration from movie magic and soundtracks. We love everything, from androgynous magical girls, to cyberpunk angels, flaming hot wizard star boys, ridiculous amounts of CLAMP, to feudal fairytales.  

Most of my projects on this blog are usually for one of our skits, so I do my best to chronicle our behind the scenes work on our cosplays, sets, and more to share our progress and inspirations.

Our group consists of a variety of friends, most of which don't have a theatre or stage background of any kind, but do amazing work! Most of us also pursue an array of careers and activities outside of cosplay that we somehow end up incorporating in one of our skits. Over the years, we've expanded performances, creativity, skit development, and craftsmanship as we continue to perform at masquerades sharing our stories with others. 

We've grown with each skit project, from cosplay fabrication to the audio, backdrop settings, and video background work. We pool our resources together, and we've been fortunate to have gained a lot of love and support from our friends, fellow cosplayers, the cosplay community, and our own communities. 

Our cosplay name was sort of an accident that stuck over the years, be're glad that lots of friends over time have adopted the "pants your goonies" style when it comes to being creative and spirited about each other's projects. We're extremely supportive of our fellow masquerade competitors, and we always want to encourage others to perform alongside us to make it the best show we can.

We've also happened to win some awards for our performances, include Best Presentations and Best in Show, and our skits are on Youtube if you look for the group name!
