So this post might only have *one* valuable reason. Bahaha, finally some digital art piece for this site. #_# I actually realized how rarely I put art in here, but I also added it to my (slow but still existing) tumblr too. I rarely get the opportunity to site down and work on my art, though I actually should...and this was a really quick one. It features Serena with an alternate outfit I decided off the top of my head. Originally it was going to be a derpy mid-time doodle, but I got to fleshing it out a bit more. It's made on Sai like the others, and I just keep on practicing slowly but surely. She's probably the cutest starter I've seen though. <3 I'm still waiting on getting the Pokemon X till probably early November to keep myself away from being distracted by anything that isn't school/work/cosplay. So I have so much to update about Fanime and my Yuuko cosplay, but I wated to quickly dump a random piece I made with a few spare minutes. I've been busy recovering my back from a bad injury during the convention, and then getting my personal and school life settled. But here's my first time using Photoshop for hand drawn artwork! I have actually almost exclusively used Paint Tool Sai and after finishing some work for a client, I began to wonder why I never had used Photoshop before. I quite love it! She reminds me a bit of something from Creamy Mami. xD I designed her originally with longer hair, but I wanted to just make it a quick trial run. It's an original character, nontheless! So more updates coming soon about Yuuko, along with some groovy pictures, and some Cecilia photoshoot results as well. I'm surprised I was able to bring Cecilia out again! It was quite fun. And for Anime Expo, I have Belldandy planned with an awesome friend cosplaying as Holy Bell...

  Pokemon Heroes Year: 2007 Medium: Thin Sharpie Liner with Crayola Colored Pencils I posted this out of nostalgia since I posted the other Pokemon artwork I did not too long ago. This was made back in 2007, and around 2008 I made some other pieces for a fanfiction I started writing. Growing up with Pokemon, this was my favorite team. Don't ask me where Haruka/Kasumi/Takeshi were. I was so fond of Kanon that I wrote one too many stories of this trio.  I didn't own any fancy markers, colors, and liners until college, so this is pretty much a good example of my work. I also wasn't much of a shader until I started practicing more. You can also find this artwork posted under the name Kanon at The Pokemon Tower.

Pokemon Heroines featuring Beru, Moe, Haruka, Kanon, and Kasumi Year: 2012 Medium : Sakura Multiliners, Copic Markers, and Prismacolor Pencils I admit that I have watched Pokemon since its first season airings on television, and my brother and even my younger sister now too, and I regularly watch the new episodes on Saturday mornings like the good old days of Kanto and Johto. Pokemon's been a huge part of my life, and it's one of the anime I attribute my growing interest in drawing too. I used to pause some tapes I had of it to stop and draw characters like Erika or Kasumi. My favorite character from Pokemon is the obscure Kanon, who only appeared in the 5th film of Pokemon: Guardians of the Water Capital - Latias and Latios. She's an artist from Altomare who paints pictures and spends time playing with Latias, one of the guardians of the water city. From time to time, I seem to like drawing either her or Kasumi often. Name: Red Haired Stranger Year: September 2012 Medium: Crayola Colored Pencils on Sketch Pad Paper Whenever people ask me who this is, I sit there thinking that it's either Jean Grey or Merida. Originally, it was supposed to be Jean Grey when I started since I had bought a 24 pack of colored pencils during the school supply sales. I like usually blending types of colored pencils, and I started making her locks until I noticed I made them a bit too curly. I brought her to my students where I work at and they called her Merida, so I decided she'd be Merida to them, red-haired girl to everyone else, and Jean Grey to myself.  I have to admit that I'm not fond of the mouth. You can tell it's darker than the rest of the sketch because I accidentally plucked the wrong color. ^^; I do like the graduation of the locks however!    

Kosaka Mayu - Gokkun Pucho! Year: 2012 Medium: Medium: Ballpoint Pen (Lining), Copics, Prismacolors, Watercolor Pencils on Plain Copy Paper I love Gokkun Pucho! as one of my gauilty pleasure shoujo manga stories. xD My aunt showed it to me on Christmas years back and I thought it was ultra adorable. I have all three tankoban for it, although there's a dearth of full-color illustrations for it in the book.  I started practicing on other poses, including side poses and I began doodling with a pen. Eventually I figured to draw a girl, and immediately when I think of a cute girl and a style that's similar to mine is Mayu, and then before I knew it, I was scouring online for some reference colors for the uniforms and it was coming along! I also tested a little the skin color with watercolored pencils.  

Kaname Madoka - Puella Magi Madoka Magica Year: 2012   Medium: Copic Multiliners and Copic Markers on Ink-Jet Paper Madoka is one of the saddest anime you will ever watch, but it speaks volumes to you. It spoke to me in several ways, and I can't help but love cute little Madoka! I was intent on drawing fan art since I'm not the first to do it and am usually swamped in other projects, so I finally sat down and took a day to draw her freehandedly with only a small picture guide for what colors to use on her properly. Earlier that day, I had purchased some new Copic Markers in red and pink hues, so it was a great chance to try them out. I ended up drying out my Light Tea Rose. D= My favorite part however are her eyes, since I love the depth in them. I'm still working at it. ^^; This is a great step though, and I'm happy it captured her well! 

Batman Beyond feat. Batman and Bruce Wayne    Year: 2012 Medium: Copic Markers on Canson Illustration Paper   So to kick off my love for fan art (and Batman!), I am posting my Batman Beyond sketch. Originally, I had purchased illustration paper on a trial basis to see which one would work for a particular project. To not waste the paper entirely, I decided to make a test illustration, and chose Terry McGinnis' design in Batman Beyond. I absolutely love this series, as it is one of those good old nostalgic shows. I also think it's got that deeper, darker, cyberpunk flair from the 90's that I appreciate and still love in older anime and cartoons.  I admit that I had to look at a few reference pictures for these, as you can obviously compare them to the originals. I did love taking up the challenge of creating shapes out of shadows only, which is the essence of the animation alongside its blockier shapes.
